Aarhus Fremad has lost head coach Morten Dahm Kjærgaard to Silkeborg and has now found a replacement. The Betinia Liga club announces that current assistant Mathias Damgaard is being promoted to become the new head coach. 29-year-old Damgaard has been with Aarhus Fremad since 2019, when he joined as a player. In 2020, he became a playing assistant, before stopping as an active player in 2023. Now he is ready to take on the heavy responsibility as head coach, and this pleases director Jesper Blicher Dahl. Jesper Blicher Dahl says that Mathias Damgaard has the Fremad culture under his skin. He has been an important factor in defining our playing style and the development we have undergone in recent years. Mathias Damgaard played 69 games for Aarhus Fremad as an active player, while it has become over 200 games as an assistant. Aarhus Fremad had a feeling that something could happen on the coaching front during the summer break, and has been in continuous dialogue with Mathias Damgaard over the past half year. It is a logical consequence of our work, and we are looking forward to getting started. Mathias Damgaard is ready to take on the challenge and lead Aarhus Fremad forward. He has a good understanding of the club and its values. Aarhus Fremad is a club that always seeks to develop and improve.
